Talking to God

One of the things that first intrigued me about Margery was the way in which she talked to God.

Lately I’ve been paying more attention to the ways I address the Almighty.

Here’s a random sampling of some of the things I’ve caught myself saying to Him:

Ok,ok,ok,ok.  I got it.

You’ve got to be kidding me.

Give me a break.

Why are you so sweet to me???

You’re killing me.

Quit.

Really.

NO WAY.

(We laugh out loud.)

Please, please, please, please, please, pretty please, with a cherry on top.

Duh. I’m so stupid.

Help me.

I’m such an  *******.

Are you sure?

Mercy.

I’m sorry I let you down.

Tell me how much you love me.

Could I have a sign, please?

Does my bottom look big in these jeans?

(Just kiddin’ on that one!)

But He is, after all, known as the Bridegroom.

(Happy 34th Anniversary to mine!)

Hi Kim. I've been reading your blog for over a year. Can I come up with words that would let you know the impact you've had on my life?? Nope. Think BIG. Think heart stuff and you'll know.

Take it from one earth quake survivor that I 'get it', the Margery thing. I don't want to have gone through a 9.7 and not have anything left. I want to keep dancing and throwing my head back with laughter that comes from my toes. You remind me to do that. You remind me that is perfectly alright to mourn, be angry and FEEL. Fiesty is my favourite word. This Irish girl plans to keep it that way. You are my inspiration, your my voice, your my thoughts....can you possibly be the sister I wish for??? Girl you keep going. We need you, I need you. Continue to be the real, gut honest Christian women you are. You make me laugh, you make me cry and you touch my heart in ways no other author has. Yes you are an author!
I love you girl friend and one day I will write you my earthquake, it's ongoing so I need to be here with you so I remember life is lived in the moments AND He will never leave us or forsake us. YOU ROCK. With love, Karen

My husband and I will be married 34 years this October. Where did the years go? I still feel 23 most of the time. I think dresses with long lacey sleeves must have been the style in 1976.
